Now this is a German classic. When I first saw the Ketchup Style, I threw up in my mouth. I don't know why - it makes sense. French fries are potatoes, and I love them with ketchup. Why not potato chips? I can't explain the initial disgust. Maybe it's because I have a painful past with bears... And I mean, what kind of soulless, cartoon king bear pimps his brethren as foodstuff?

They're fine. They have a nice crisp to them. Are they in my deserted island shopping cart? No. But my kids love them and the company is part of some EU pledge to advertise responsibly to kids. I guess that means there are no decoder rings in the bag? The design is purposely outdated? The company won't do licensing deals with Paw Patrol?

Since moving to Thailand in summer 2022, I was surprised to realize that I would no longer have good, affordable dairy products or wine. Even tomato sauce and pasta is expensive. Western food is exotic here, duh Hana! So I was amused to find a trove of truffle-flavored products. Truffle-flavored coconut oil, truffle-flavored ice cream, truffle-flavored potato chips...

Not in my deserted island shopping cart, but it was definitely worth the first bag binge. Lays chips are a weird thickness for me. I wish they were either thicker or thinner. They hit some kind of weird middle that doesn't satisfy me. It's an evil genius thickness that doesn't sate and makes you want to eat more and more. The truffle taste was great, though. I imagine it would be great with a bottle of Barolo. Fancy breakup binge.

This snack is definitely in my deserted island shopping cart. I never tried the fried pasta snack trend, but I imagine this is what the texture would be like. It has such a satisfying crunch! Not to the level of fearing for the integrity of your molars, but juuust before that threshold. A fantastic stress relief food. Sweet and spicy. I'm salivating just thinking about it. I can't wait to have it again. I think I'll dip them in good vanilla ice cream. Like a Korean cannoli. FCUK I'm a genius.
